STILL TIED

A COUPLE YEARS LATER - TIME FLIES - IN THE AFTER LIFE

I’m still here. A bit astonished that I had not posted anything for a couple years. Just recently finished breath sheet 800! I was not expecting that. This is approximately 40,000 individual breath drawings.

Over the past number of years these drawings are mostly representative of ethereal figures -human in another form. Maybe fantasy, maybe science fiction, maybe the invisible larger form of our higher selves.

The Years of 25,000 Breaths

Don't Hold Your Breath

Like the marks on a prison cell wall, counting the days down to freedom. I made it to the 500 and I am free to move on but I know I will continue because that is what I do. It's already happening with sheet No.503 but I will no longer be posting any more of these. It's not as though I had any goal in mind. This process is eternal. It started many years before this set which I have posted examples of periodically and it will continue in various forms in years to come.

These are figurative works, in one and or all aspects of what a human being is.

20,000 Strong

Random page from pocket sketchbook - May 6, 2018

Yesterday, May 28th, I completed my 400th sheet of the S.O.S. Breath Drawings Series that I started while at my current evening job at a call centre. I started there in October of 2013 and this job allows me 'moments' to doodle here and there throughout the evening. Other people there either read or do crossword puzzles or talk to their neighbors in between calls but I like to doodle.  I began a formatted drawing sequence on my 3rd sheet dated Dec.3, 2013. All are on the same paper using a medium ball point blue pen. Four and a half years later (I never thought I would have remained there for so long) I've managed to produce 400 of these sheets. Each of these pages average 50 drawings and fifty times four hundred equals twenty thousand! Way to go Robert! Now what?

I continue.

Here are a few from earlier this month.

A Long Way Up

It had been awhile since I had some nice long telephone conversations. I miss them. My old buddy Scott from Nov 8th and my older brother Gary from Nov10th.  Now where is Teranishi?

String Of Thoughts

Some of my most recent doodles. Two on the phone  (the ones with names) and the rest are my morning coffee drawings. All the words are in the drawings. Like a vibraphone recording waves of speech of my inner dialogue. There is communication and interaction among the masses of undulating lines of graphite or ball point ink.
